British Columbia grows some of the best wine in the world yet our government taxes it 42% higher than regular products. The PST on wine is 10%, the same rate the province uses for things it wants to discourage. We're taxing one of the Okanagan's proudest industries as if it were a vice. Cold snaps have wiped out up to 99% of the grape crop, a quarter of BC wineries have gone up for sale, and 14,000 livelihoods are on the line. You don't tax a homegrown industry back to health. Defund Illegal Drugs in B.C.

If you want to end illegal drug use, you shouldn’t pay people to use drugs. But that’s exactly what this government is doing. Every year, the government spends millions of dollars on costly and counterproductive drug consumption sites. These sites encourage addicts to put off recovery. They drag chaos and disorder into communities. And they don’t work. Drug deaths have risen tenfold since the first site opened in 2003. Loopholes currently allow people to claim disability payments simply because they have a drug habit. This money is earned by taxpayers, and it belongs to people with genuine physical and mental disabilities. Sign the petition for legislation to close these sites and redirect funding to recovery.
Repeal the Speculation & Vacancy Tax

The NDP’s Speculation and Vacancy Tax is ineffective and punitive. It’s done nothing to lower rental prices yet still punishes thousands of Canadians for maintaining residences for work, to care for loved ones, or to maintain inherited family properties.
